Debbie is respected nurse leader with over 45 years of experience. Starting her career in a SEL hospital, moved into Primary Care in 1997 and since held influential roles, Nurse Consultant for Lewisham CCG. She led major improvement projects across Respiratory Care, Care Homes, and workforce equality.

Debbie is Editor in Chief for Practice Nursing Journal, contributes to national NHS forums, and founded Lewisham CEPN. A Queens Nurse, CNO Gold Award and an MBE for her outstanding service to Primary Care nursing and the NHS. She’s currently DoN for SEL Workforce Development Hub, driving workforce expansion, strengthening retention and recruitment.

Debbie has worked as a General practice nurse and as an ANP and non-medical prescriber in Primary Care for over 20 years. She has a special interest in long term conditions. Debbie has worked as a lecturer in nurse education since 2010 and previously ran the postgraduate respiratory course and specialist practice respiratory pathway at Queens University. Debbie is now a Senior Lecturer in primary and community care at City St George's, University of London. Debbie is passionate about education and wants it to be accessible, especially for those based in primary care. As a writer, Debbie has had over 60 articles published in the nursing press. She has also written three textbooks. She has been on a number of national groups such as the research and education research committee for the Association of Respiratory Nurses. She is also the community nurse lead of the multidisciplinary community advanced cancer group working with BOPA and UKONS. Debbie is part of the NHS England and QNI groups on long covid.

Associate Professor of Economics

Dr Amrish Patel is Associate Professor of Economics at the University of East Anglia. He is Head of the Behavioural Economics Research Group, Lead of the Behaviour Change research cluster at the Centre for Experimental and Behavioural Social Sciences (CBESS) and Co-Chief Investigator of the NIHR-funded clinical trial FluCare. Amrish's research agenda focuses on the development of behaviour change interventions and evaluating their impact. His recent work has looked at increasing flu vaccine uptake in care home staff and improving travel training for children with special education needs and disability.

Retired GP and Specialist Doctor in Diabetes

David is a retired GP from Bridgnorth Medical Practice, Shropshire, where he had responsibility for diabetes within the practice. More recently, David retired as a Specialist Doctor in Diabetes at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. David continues to work as an undergraduate clinical tutor at Keele University and examiner at Aston University. 

Since retiring as a GP, David has made several visits as a volunteer to a health clinic in rural Tanzania, providing advice on the running of the diabetes clinic. Diabetes education is an issue which David feels very passionate about, and is always happy to discuss, teach or write about diabetes!

Dr George Kassianos is a Family Physician, National Immunisation Lead for the Royal College of GPs, and President of the British Global & Travel Health Association. He chairs the Pan-European Group RAISE (Raise Awareness of Influenza Strategies in Europe – 21 countries), Board member of the European Scientific Working Group on Influenza (ESWI), Editor of VACCINES Special issue on ‘Influenza Vaccines and Influenza Vaccinations in Europe’, Deputy Editor Drugs In Context and editorial board member of a number of medical journals. In October 2020, Her Majesty the Queen appointed Dr Kassianos Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in Her Birthday 2020 Honours List, for his services to General Practice and Travel Medicine.

Dr Sundhya Raman (BSc MBBS DPhil Dipl IBLM/BSLM) is the Lifestyle Medicine lead at the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society. She is the founder of My Wellness Doctor - a Lifestyle Medicine Health consultancy, and launched MyWeightLossDoctor.clinic a lifestyle medicine weight loss platform, this year. She regularly delivers talks and teaching on lifestyle medicine and healthy ageing to healthcare professionals as well as to the lay public, She teaches a module on lifestyle medicine and planetary health at Exeter University and Kings College, London.  Her advice on lifestyle shifts for optimum health has been featured in national news publications

Linda has specialised in caring for older people throughout her career, working across hospital, community and care home settings. She worked as a Consultant Nurse for 24 years and retired from full time practice in May 2024. Linda, a fellow of the Royal College of Nursing, now combines part time clinical practice as a frailty specialist nurse with teaching and writing. She publishes extensively, is on the Editorial Advisory Board of Independent Nurse and the consultant editor of the British Journal of Healthcare Assistants and writes a blog for Nursing Times.

Liz Bruen has been an enthusiastic Endometriosis CNS since 2006. She is passionate about improving patient knowledge; access to services; provide ongoing support and assessment. She is very aware that Primary Care colleagues are essential in ongoing management and providing care closer to home. To this end as the lead nurse in the Task and Finish group (2018) ensured the new role of Endometriosis CNS in every Health Board in Wales allocated time to develop services between Primary and Secondary Health Care in Wales. She also contributed to development of the online resource Endometriosis Cymru. Liz has presented locally, nationally and internationally. She served on the Endometriosis CNS sub committee for 6 years and icurrently sits on the Nurse Hysteroscopt sub committee.

Professor Ian Peate is a prominent figure in the fields of nursing and health care, he is Editor-in-Chief, British Journal of Nursing, Founding Consultant Editor Journal of Paramedic Practice and Consultant Editor International Journal for Advancing Practice. He was Consultant Editor Journal of Operating Department Practitioners. He is a respected nurse academic, author and editor with extensive experience in education and practice. Ian has authored and edited numerous textbooks and articles on nursing and health care, contributing significantly to the literature. His career has spanned various roles, including clinical nursing, nursing education and leadership positions. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of nursing and was awarded an OBE for his services to Nursing and Nurse Education.
